With some milestones achieved over the last year, the Capital Southeast Connector project is hoping to hit a few more in 2018.
Derek Minnema, who became executive director of the project’s joint powers authority last July, said two intersection projects, in Folsom and Elk Grove, are scheduled this year.
The JPA has also applied for $80 million in state and federal grants beyond what’s in the current budget for upcoming work.
“If that comes in, 2019 and 2020 could be very exciting,” Minnema said.
The Capital Southeast Connector would be a 34-mile expressway, largely on what’s now Grant Line Road and White Rock Road, linking El Dorado Hills to Elk Grove.
